MyCentralJersey Review

“The Distance is the Same,” the sophomore EP of female-fronted Madison-based alt-pop four-piece, is an edgy improvement over a late 2015 demo-like debut and an indication that the band has much potential, especially in regard to their songwriting. A hard-working band, Above the Moon gig often and blend the two records into a seamless set, but on record, the vocally-rich, Beatlesque “Feel It Again,” the jangly angst of “More Time,” the brash breakup of “Stop Trying,” and the hauntingly percussive “Moon” stand out as their best stuff and should net the band attention. Give them that on Nov. 19 at The Crossroads in Garwood and Dec. 3 at The Bitter End in New York City.
